LPSS High School Students Visit Grambling State University

Last month, a group of LPSS High School juniors and seniors embarked on a remarkable educational adventure at Grambling State University, a renowned Historically Black College and University (HBCU), as part of the ‘Call Me MISTER’ Program.

In this context, "MISTER" stands for "Mentors Instructing Students Toward Effective Role Models." This program is dedicated to diversifying the education profession, especially in the face of racial disparities in the field. We're proud to report that 77 African American students participated in this transformative experience.

During their visit, students were immersed in a world of positivity and hope for the future of education. The ‘Call Me MISTER’ Program's primary aim is to inspire and empower, and our group left with renewed motivation and a clearer path towards their teaching aspirations.

Not only did they gain valuable insights, but they also had the privilege of exploring the beautiful campus and uncovering exciting new opportunities that will undoubtedly help them achieve their educational goals.
