Substitutes

Thank you for your interest in becoming a substitute teacher with the Lafayette Parish School System.

Certified Substitute Teachers:
Please proceed to our employment page to submit your application as a Certified Teacher Substitute. The Job Posting will be displayed under the Substitutes label

Non-Certified Substitute Teachers:
Please proceed to our employment page to submit your application as a Non-Certified Teacher Substitute. This job posting will stay open during the school year. The Job Posting will be displayed under the Substitutes label.

You are required to upload your resume and proof of education and teaching certificate if applicable to the application before it can be submitted. Please have your documentation ready to avoid delays.

Once your application is submitted, it will be reviewed. Then an email will be sent to qualified applicants to begin the onboarding process. You must bring your driver's license and social security card to district office when you get to the background check stage of the process.

Once your onboarding is complete and your background check results are received, you will receive an email from Public School Works that contains the mandatory online trainings. Once all required training steps are complete you will be notified that you can begin accepting jobs in SmartFind Express.
