Child Nutrition Services
New for 2021-22 School Year
The LPSS Child Nutrition Program is pleased to announce that it will provide free meals to all students in the 2021-22 school year. Regardless of income eligibility, access to free breakfast and lunch will be available at all LPSS school sites through certain waivers from the USDA.
Other free meal options continuing for the 2021-2022 school year include snacks for after school care and tutoring programs, weekend meal distribution at 4 LPSS school sites, and participation in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable program at 3 school sites.
Also continuing will be COVID-19 safety precautions practiced in the preparation and service of all school meals.
Classroom Meals for 2021-22
For health/safety reasons, students will not be eating in the cafeteria; rather, they will retrieve breakfast and lunch meals designed to be taken back to the classroom (or alternate location) and eaten there. These will be hot meals prepared by cafeteria staff — the only difference is that they will be consumed elsewhere. Menus for Classroom Meals.

Does my child qualify for Meal Benefits?
Students can qualify to receive free or reduced daily meals (breakfast and lunch) through either of two paths:
Households that do not qualify for meal benefits can pay for meals online or by check made payable to the student’s school cafeteria. To minimize contact during the pandemic, cash will not be accepted at the school site.
***Lafayette Online Academy students’ eligibility is derived from the student’s base school, which can be confirmed in the Parent Portal. If LOA is listed as the base school, please note that LOA is a Non-CEP school, meaning parents must apply for Meal Benefits.
