Yesterday, the state’s governing authority on education - the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) - adopted the minimum safety standards for schools to reopen in the fall. Now that BESE has provided additional guidance, LPSS is finalizing the details of its reopening plan for school in August. LPSS anticipates sharing the district-wide plan with our community this week.
In the meantime, LPSS is excited to share that internet providers in Acadiana are offering low-cost services. We encourage our families to take advantage of these savings in an effort to prepare for virtual learning as one of the possible scenarios.
