Interim Superintendent Irma Trosclair has appointed Ms. Amber Oubre as principal of Edgar Martin Middle School. Ms. Oubre earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Education degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Ms. Oubre has nineteen years of experience in the field of education. She began her career teaching English Language Arts at N.P. Moss Middle School. Ms. Oubre then transferred to Scott Middle School, where she continued to teach English Language Arts before advancing into the position of instructional leader. After serving seven years as an instructional leader, Ms. Oubre was promoted to assistant principal of Scott Middle School.
During her tenure at N.P. Moss Middle School, Ms. Oubre was chosen as Teacher of Year.
