The Lafayette Parish School System is proud to announce that we were recently awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association and The Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Association of School Business Officials International. The recognition is for our 2017-2018 comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR), which is submitted annually for rigorous review by these two national organizations. This is the twenty-sixth year the Lafayette Parish School System has received these awards.
We would like to thank our board and our staff for their commitment to financial transparency. As described by the Government Finance Officers Association, “the Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.”
