Lafayette Parish Public Schools and offices will remain closed on Wednesday, January 17. The National Weather Service is predicting that freezing rain and snow will persist into this evening. Overnight temperatures are predicted to drop into the upper teens or low twenties, producing single digit wind-chill factors which will persist into the early morning. Little accumulation is expected, but elevated roads and bridges are expected to be icy.
Staff will monitor weather conditions throughout the day tomorrow in order to determine when schools will reopen.
