Lafayette Parish Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 16. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for our region on Tuesday. Freezing rain and sleet, mixed with a little snow is the primary threat. Precipitation is predicted to begin in the morning and continue through the afternoon, before ending in the evening. Little accumulation is expected, but elevated roads and bridges could be icy during the day and evening.
Staff will monitor weather conditions throughout the day tomorrow in order to determine when schools will reopen.
