Magnet Academies’ Lottery Application Goes Live on Monday, December 11

Due to recent changes in the Lafayette Parish School System’s Magnet Academies, (formerly Schools of Choice), the online application opening has been delayed as we have been updating the website. The anticipated opening of applications will be Monday, December 11, at 10:00 a.m. One of the major changes to the application is a “sibling pause.” If you indicate on the application that you currently have an older sibling in an elementary Magnet Academy program or you are applying for twins/multiple birth applicant(s) in elementary, middle, or high school, the application will pause until you bring in the birth certificate(s) of the sibling(s) to the Magnet Academies’ office. If the academy you are applying for requires auditions, mandatory meetings, or interviews, the dates and times will be listed on the application. The deadline to apply has been changed from January 9 to January 18, 2018. The lottery will be held on February 20, 2018.
