The results are in following the nomination process for the 19th Annual Lafayette Education Foundation Teacher Awards. Over 1900 letters were received from fellow educators, parents, and current or former students nominating teachers in Lafayette Parish public, charter, private, and parochial schools. 787 nominees across 69 different schools were honored during Pin Patrol by 84 community volunteers, held November 30th. Teacher Award nominees were given a commemorative pin and ribbon, as well as an invitation to the LEF Teacher Awards held at the Heymann Center on January 26, 2017.
The 19th Annual LEF Teacher Awards is presented by Lafayette Education Foundation, The Daily Advertiser, Acadian Companies, Capital One Bank, Cox Communications, Entergy, Giles Automotive, Ntense Technologies, Pugh Family Foundation, 99.9 KTDY, and KATC-TV 3.
