LPSS Superintendent Appoints New Director of Elementary Schools

Lafayette Parish School System Superintendent Dr. Donald Aguillard has appointed Kathy Aloisio as the new Director of Elementary Schools for the district. Ms. Aloisio earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Nicholls State University and a Master’s degree and over 30 additional hours of graduate credit at UL-­‐Lafayette. Ms. Aloisio has taught biology and physical science at Acadiana High School, Lafayette High School and Comeaux High School. She has served as an assistant principal at Comeaux High School and at Northside High School. She is currently the principal of L.J. Alleman Middle School Arts Academy, where she has served for 10 years. Under her direction, Alleman has earned the National Blue Ribbon award and has been rated as an “A” school by the Louisiana Department of Education for the past two years. Ms. Aloisio’s first official day at work in her new capacity will be Monday, September 14.
