LPSS Releases Learn Lafayette Plan for New School Year

The Lafayette Parish School System is sharing its approved plan for managing health and safety during the pandemic for the 2021-2022 school year. Like last year, the district’s plan is based on the best available guidance from federal, state, and local medical experts. It also reflects the many lessons learned from last year’s largely successful efforts to maintain safe, in-person schooling. LPSS believes in-person learning is best, and its Learn Lafayette plan outlines the various procedures and protocols that will be employed to keep students and staff safe while on school campuses.

LPSS will continue to evaluate and monitor the situation and will adjust or amend the plan as needed to respond to changes in expert guidance or new data. We will strive to maintain in-person learning by utilizing the full array of mitigation measures at our disposal, and as always LPSS will continue to make the health of our students, teachers, and staff our top priority. The district strongly encourages eligible members of the community to get the free COVID-19 vaccine to help minimize the risks for our teachers and students. #sleevesupforstudents
