Paula Guidry, fifth grade teacher at L. Leo Judice Elementary School, was recognized on March 29, by the Louisiana Farm Bureau as Ag in the Classroom Teacher of the Year for her school garden project. The Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom program is designed to help students gain an awareness of the role agriculture plays in the economy and society. The program also helps teachers use agriculture in their curriculum. You can view the full story and share the information on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/lafayette4h/ .

These school gardens are a collaborative effort between school administration, faculty, students, Lafayette Master Gardeners, the LSU AgCenter’s 4-H Youth Development Program and Lafayette Parish School System’s Child Nutrition Program.
