On Wednesday, January 10, 2018, proposed changes to the district’s Pupil Progression Plan were posted to the Lafayette Parish School System web site along with a form for public comment. The Pupil Progression Plan is a Board approved policy document that lays out the rules for promotion, retention, remediation, and intervention. This year, the Louisiana Department of Education made several changes to state policy requiring local districts to make changes to their Pupil Progression Plans. We encourage parents to view the plan changes and make comments. The deadline for submitting comments is January 19. On January 24, at 4:30 p.m. a Pupil Progression Plan Committee meeting will be held in the Board Room. The public is invited to attend.
