The Lafayette Parish School Board has completed its annual evaluation of Superintendent Dr. Donald Aguillard. The results of the evaluation were discussed with the Superintendent at the July 26th regular board meeting. Each board member scored the performance of the superintendent on a scale from 1-8 in 6 separate domains consisting of 28 performance standards addressing a specific aspect of the superintendent’s job. A score of 4 equates to a good performance that is above average. Anything below 4 indicates a performance in need of improvement, and scores above 4 indicate increasingly successful and superior performance levels.
Dr. Aguillard was rated 6.81/8 on the first domain, Policy and Governance. In the Planning and Assessment domain, Dr. Aguillard was rated 6.58/8, and he was rated 6.57/8 points in the Instructional Leadership domain. Board members awarded him 6.51/8 in the Organizational Management domain. In the Communications and Community Relations domain, he was scored 6.89/8, and board members rated him a 7.00/8 in the Professionalism domain. Overall, Dr. Aguillard’s score was a 6.73/8, a rating that puts him in the “Outstanding Performance” category on the rubric used for the evaluation.
