Lafayette Parish School System Superintendent Dr. Donald Aguillard has appointed Venus Soileau assistant principal at Paul Breaux Middle School, Ginger Richard assistant principal at G.T. Lindon Elementary, Peggy Stefan assistant principal at Acadiana High School, and Lorrie Venable itinerant assistant principal at Ossun Elementary and Charles Burke Elementary School.
Venus Soileau earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from U.L. Lafayette. She earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. She served as an English teacher at Paul Beaux Middle School, a data analyst, an academic behavior interventionist, and as assistant principal at Acadian Middle School. Her most recent assignment was instructional strategist at Scott Middle School. Ms. Soileau was recognized as the 2012 Lafayette Parish Middle School Teacher of the Year.
Ginger Richard earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s in Education from U.L. Lafayette. Ms. Richard served as a first and second grade teacher at Ridge Elementary for six years. She has served as an elementary math lead teacher, a second grade teacher at Milton Elementary/Middle School. Her most recent assignment was as an instructional strategist at Milton Elementary/Middle School. In 2009, she was named Ridge Elementary School Teacher of the Year.
Peggy Stefan earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education and a Master of Education Degree from U.L. Lafayette. She has served as a high school math teacher in Lafayette Parish for 27 years. Her most recent assignment was as a data analyst at Acadiana High School. Ms. Stefan was named Acadiana High School Teacher of the Year in 2001. She was recognized as a Louisiana Teachers of Mathematics Outstanding Mathematics Teacher in 2003, and in 2006 and 2010 she was named a Lafayette Education Foundation Teacher of the Year Finalist.
Lorrie Venable earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from U.L. Lafayette. She earned a Master’s Degree in Education from U.L. Lafayette. She has served as an elementary teacher at Ossun Elementary School and Alice Boucher Elementary School. Her most recent assignment was data analyst at Ossun Elementary School. Ms. Venable has been a Lafayette Education Foundation (LEF) grants recipient and an Acadiana Center for the Arts grants recipient. Also, she was an LEF Teacher Award Nominee and the 2013 Ossun Elementary Teacher of the Year.
