Chris Broussard has been selected as the new director of Career and Technical Education/Magnet Academies for the Lafayette Parish Public School System.
Broussard has more than 30 years of experience in career and technical education, including work as an instructor, assistant principal, principal, and supervisor during that time. For the last seven years, he has been the Career and Technical Education Supervisor and Principal for the Iberia Parish Career Center.
“I’m excited to bring my experience and passion for student learning to my new role,” said Broussard. “I consider it a great honor to be chosen to lead such a fantastic program.”
In 2018, Broussard was one of six CTE supervisors in the state chosen to join a panel that created an official LDOE-sponsored CTE supervisor training model. He holds a master’s degree in education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette
Dr. Buffy Fegenbush has been named director of LPSS’s Transformation Zone program, which provides eight local schools with additional support and resources in order to raise test scores and improve student performance.
“It’s an honor to be chosen to lead work in the Transformation Zone, to strengthen belief and implement practices that ensure all students are provided with opportunities to succeed,” said Fegenbush.
Fegenbush is an experienced educator, with a career spanning nearly three decades. She has worked as a teacher, guidance counselor, assistant principal, principal, and supervisor of instruction for career/technical education. She is an adjunct professor for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and has taught graduate courses at both the master and doctoral levels.
