LPSS Names Two New Academic Directors

Chris Broussard has been selected as the new director of Career and Technical Education/Magnet Academies for the Lafayette Parish Public School System.

Broussard has more than 30 years of experience in career and technical education, including work as an instructor, assistant principal, principal, and supervisor during that time. For the last seven years, he has been the Career and Technical Education Supervisor and Principal for the Iberia Parish Career Center.

“I’m excited to bring my experience and passion for student learning to my new role,” said Broussard. “I consider it a great honor to be chosen to lead such a fantastic program.”

In 2018, Broussard was one of six CTE supervisors in the state chosen to join a panel that created an official LDOE-sponsored CTE supervisor training model. He holds a master’s degree in education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette
