LPSS Announces New Principal for Carencro High School

Vanessa Knott, Principal of Carencro High School

Vanessa Knott has been named principal of Carencro High School, where she previously served as vice principal since August 2021. Mrs. Knott has served as a teacher, instructional leader, data analyst, and assistant principal in the Lafayette Parish School System for the last 25 years. She is committed to ensuring all students learn to their maximum potential and to fostering innovation through collaboration with all stakeholders.

She is a four-time LEF Teacher Award nominee and was named Teacher of the Year for L.J. Allman in 2012 and for Carencro Middle in 2000. Prior to becoming a vice principal at Carencro High School, she served as an assistant principal at Northside High School. “I’m proud to be chosen to lead Carencro High School and I’m excited about the bright future ahead for our Bears!” said Mrs. Knott.

Superintendent Trosclair stated, “Ms. Knott has a proven and successful professional record, most recently stepping into the acting principal role for the last several months at Carencro High School. She has done a tremendous job as acting principal and I know she will lead Carencro High School to excellence!”

Mrs. Knott is a graduate of Northside High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She earned a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from LSU-Shreveport in 2016.
