Latikka Magee Recognized as a 2022 NAFEPA State Leadership Recipient

Latikka Magee, Director of Federal Programs

The Lafayette Parish School System is excited to announce that Latikka Magee, director of federal programs for the Lafayette Parish School System, was recognized as a 2022 state leadership recipient by the National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators (NAFEPA). Magee was selected by NAFEPA for demonstrating outstanding dedication, leadership, and commitment to the Louisiana Association of School Administrators of Federally Assisted Programs (LASAFAP) organization and its membership. The NAFEPA recognized honorees were presented their awards during the 2022 spring conference at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC.

“I am extremely honored to receive the State Leadership Award from the National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators (NAFEPA) organization. It has been both my pleasure and privilege to serve as an educational leader at both the state and district levels. The opportunities to serve families, other educational colleagues throughout the state, but most importantly our wonderful students, is a privilege,” says Magee.

Superintendent Irma Trosclair states, “We are proud of Ms. Magee for receiving this recognition and for her dedication to LPSS. A large portion of our funding comes from the federal government, and with that funding comes many stipulations, deadlines, and reporting requirements. Ms. Magee and her team work with different stakeholders to evaluate and ensure that our district adheres to all of the rules and regulations to secure grants and funding for our students, such as Title I, Title II-V, and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).“
