Certain LPSS Schools Under Boil Water Advisory

News Release

A boil water advisory has been issued for certain areas of the city including Baranco Elementary School, W.D. & Mary Baker Smith Career Center, E.J. Sam Accelerated School, LeRosen Preparatory, Paul Breaux Middle School, and Lafayette Middle School. School is still in session today and will be in session tomorrow. All safety precautions are being followed to ensure students and staff are safe. Meals will be served and bottled water will be provided, if needed. Students are encouraged to bring a bottle of water if they can do so. The water system is operational, so restrooms will be functioning as normal and the only issue is that water cannot be consumed until the boil water advisory has been lifted.

Myrtle Place Elementary School was dismissed earlier today due to the break in the waterline and will be impacted by the boil water advisory. A decision regarding school being in session tomorrow will be made later this evening.
