The Lafayette Parish School System is excited to announce the launch of "Wellness Wednesday," a pivotal initiative that forms an integral part of the district’s comprehensive 8-Point Retention Plan. This program is designed to prioritize the well-being of employees while fostering a healthier, more productive work environment.
In an era where employee well-being is paramount, LPSS has taken proactive steps to enhance its culture and support team members in achieving a work-life balance that promotes overall wellness. The 8-Point Retention Plan encompasses various initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention. “Wellness Wednesday” is a central pillar of this plan, focusing on the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our workforce.
“We are proud to offer this new initiative. ‘Wellness Wednesday’ reflects our commitment to supporting, valuing, and equipping employees with tools to thrive both personally and professionally,” states John Mouton, Director of Employee Services.
The program offers bi-monthly virtual wellness webinars, covering an array of topics such as stress management, mindfulness, self-care, and dealing with anxiety, providing employees with valuable insights and strategies to enhance their well-being. The inaugural 45-minute session is scheduled for November 8th. To kick-off this initiative, the district is inviting the community to join in celebrating Wellness Week November 6-10, 2023.
The introduction of "Wellness Wednesday" marks a significant step in LPSS's commitment to enhancing employee retention and satisfaction. By actively promoting wellness within the workplace, the district aims to establish a positive work environment where employees can thrive.
