The Lafayette Parish School System has formally announced the 2024-2025 Principal of the Year Winners for the elementary, middle, and high school grade levels.
Winners include:
Elementary—Gabrielle Mergist, Woodvale Elementary School
Middle—Pamela Hovey, Judice Middle School
High—Layne Edelman, Acadiana High School
This is a high honor for outstanding principals who have been selected by their peers. Every year, principals nominate their peers and then select a Principal of the Year based on these nominations. The winners of the district move on to the state competition.
