Three LPSS schools earned top honors in The Advocate's annual Acadiana's Choice Awards, a testament to their excellence in education and community impact.
The #1 schools are:
- Westside Elementary in Scott – Best Elementary School

- Early College Academy – Best High School
Additionally, Lafayette High School earned second place in the Best High School category, further highlighting LPSS's commitment to educational excellence across multiple grade levels.
LPSS Superintendent Francis Touchet, Jr., expressed his pride in the recognition, stating:
"The results serve as a testament to the hard work and dedication of our teachers and staff. All of our educators show up every day ready to make sure that our students have not only the best experience academically, but that the school culture is vibrant and supportive. Our theme, 'Experience the Difference,' encourages every parent to have their student be a part of the growth and opportunity happening right now at all our schools."
The LPSS community is proud of this achievement and remains committed to providing quality education and a supportive environment for all students. This honor reflects the district's dedication to fostering academic success through opportunity, a strong school culture, a safe environment, and overall student growth.
