Early College Academy (ECA) offers students an academic experience unlike any other in the state. As Louisiana’s number one public high school, ECA provides a college-level learning environment where students can earn college credits and even complete an associate’s degree while still working toward their high school diploma.
Located on the campus of South Louisiana Community College (SLCC), ECA blends high expectations with strong support systems to help students thrive and succeed.
High School and College at the Same Time
Students at ECA take a combination of high school and college courses beginning in 9th grade. Through thoughtful planning and individualized advising, students can complete up to two years of college coursework before graduation.
Many ECA students graduate with both:
- A high school diploma
- An associate’s degree from SLCC
This gives graduates a tremendous academic and financial advantage. They can enter a four-year university as a sophomore, continue toward a bachelor’s degree, or transition directly into a career pathway with valuable credentials already in hand.
Why Families Choose ECA
Students who attend Early College Academy benefit from:
- A rigorous, college-focused curriculum
- A supportive and encouraging campus culture
- Small school environment with close relationships
- Daily exposure to college expectations and independence
- A head start on higher education at no tuition cost to families
ECA students learn how to manage deadlines, communicate professionally, analyze complex problems, and navigate new challenges with confidence.
These are the skills that prepare them not only for college success, but for life.
A School Proven to Excel
ECA has earned the distinction of being the #1 school in the state of Louisiana, reflecting outstanding academic performance, dedicated faculty, and strong student outcomes.
The school’s success highlights what is possible when students are given challenge, support, and opportunity.
