The Lafayette Parish School System is proud to announce that Melissa Arceneaux, Lead Social Worker for LPSS, has been elected President of the Louisiana Association of School Social Workers for the upcoming term. The Louisiana Association of School Social Workers is a statewide professional organization dedicated to supporting school social workers through advocacy, professional development, and collaboration, all with the goal of strengthening services for students and school communities.

In her role with LPSS, Melissa leads a team of school social workers who provide critical support to students and families, helping remove barriers to learning and promoting student well-being. As president of the association, Melissa will help guide efforts to elevate the role of school social workers across Louisiana while promoting best practices and continued professional growth.

LPSS is proud of Melissa Arceneaux for this achievement and grateful for her passion, leadership, and unwavering dedication to students. Her service at both the district and state levels reflects the very best of our commitment to safety, opportunity, culture, and growth.
