LPSS Announces New Program Administrator for Lerosen Preparatory School

Kimberly Magee

Following James Rollins' transfer to Northside High School, the Lafayette Parish School System is pleased to announce that Kimberly Magee has been chosen to lead Lerosen Preparatory School. Mrs. Kimberly Magee embarked on her teaching career in 2004 at Leesville Junior High School in Vernon Parish, where she taught Business Education subjects and Computer Literacy to 7th and 8th-grade students. In 2006, she began teaching Algebra I at Beau Chene High School in St.Landry Parish before taking a teaching position in the Lafayette Parish School System at Lafayette High School.

In 2008, Mrs. Magee started teaching at Caps and Laps Alternative School, where she was honored as the 2011 Teacher of the Year. In addition to teaching during the day, Mrs. Magee also taught adult education classes at night. For the subsequent 12 years, Mrs. Magee dedicated herself to alternative education, serving in various roles such as teacher, data analyst, data liaison, academic behavior interventionist, and assistant principal. In the summer of 2020, Mrs. Magee assumed the role of assistant principal at Comeaux High School, where she has served until now.

Mrs. Magee is thrilled to return to Lerosen Preparatory as the new program administrator. She is eager to continue nurturing a culture of personal accountability in a structured environment, where students are taught that self-discipline is crucial for both academic achievement and lifelong success. The goal is to equip students with the skills necessary to achieve sustainable success once they return to their base school. “Ms. Magee will maintain the existing structure and management at Lerosen Preparatory School, ensuring stability and consistency for every student.” Superintendent Francis Touchet Jr. states.

Mrs. Magee earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a minor in Finance, and completed 30 graduate-level hours in Education from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She completed her Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership through the American College of Education.
