STEP 1: GATHER REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Enrollment opens in January prior to the start of each school year and remains open until the end of the school year.
You will need an electronic version of any document you want to upload.
TO OBTAIN AN ELECTRONIC VERSION
- The electronic file must be in one of these file formats: (pdf) (jpg) (jpeg) (png)
- The file name cannot contain any special characters: accents, tildes, symbols, etc. (examples: è, é, ñ, &, *, #)
There are 4 ways to get an electronic version:
1: Ask the document provider to email an electronic version of the document to you. Save the emailed document to your computer.
2: Save an existing word processed document or spreadsheet as a PDF file.
3: Take a clear photograph of the document and save the photograph to your phone or computer.
4: Have the paper document scanned as an electronic file.
- You can use your home printer if it has a scan option.
- You can use a free mobile app such as: Adobe Scan or Google Drive Scanner
- Take it to any store or library that offers scanning services. Bring a portable flash drive to save the electronic file on or email the scanned document to yourself.

STEP 2: APPLY & SUBMIT REQUIRED DOCUMENTS ONLINE.

Note: You will not see the list of individual Elementary Schools listed in the application. All applicants must apply for Lafayette Parish School System Pre-K Program and will be placed based on the home zone school or approved Magnet Academy.
All information must be accurate and verifiable. If a student is selected for admission based on application information that is later determined to be false, the student may lose admission into the program.
Acceptance into a Magnet Academy is attained by enrolling through www.lafayettechoice.com. Once students are accepted into a Magnet Academy, then enrollment and registration must be submitted through Early Childhood for placement. Please visit their site for enrollment dates.
Students are not considered eligible until the following occurs:
- An application is complete and submitted at www.enrolllafayette.com
- All required documents have been reviewed and verified by the LPSS Early Childhood Department.
Parents will be notified via email when placement occurs.
Seats are limited.
Placement is determined by school zones and availability. Look up your school zone now by clicking here and entering your address. Truman Early Childhood Education Center is a school that seats 4 year olds as overflow from zoned schools. Learn more about school sites here.
Hardship and Employee Options are NOT available for Pre-K.
Once placement occurs, the parent must login to their portal and accept the seat.
Parents who do not fall within the income guidelines and if seats are available, will be required to pay a tuition fee of $3,744.00 for the school year or monthly per the payment schedule.
Tuition Payment Schedule
Nine monthly installments of $416.00 is due on the first day of each month starting September through May.
Over income students with an IEP will be pro-rated based on their Special Education minutes.
Your child will lose his/her position in the program if tuition is not paid. A tuition agreement form must be completed at registration. Tuition is tax-exempt and receipts will be issued after each monthly payment.
An educational evaluation is offered for children ages 3 through 5 years not enrolled in Kindergarten who may have special needs.
