Education Matters

Date: December 20, 2021

Dear LPSS Families:

As we reach near the end of the first half of the school year, I’m proud of everything that we have accomplished. Thanks to the hard work of teachers, staff, administrators, parents, and students, we’ve been able to rise to every challenge. Your support helps us in our mission to provide a solid educational experience to the students we serve.

As we near the end of the first semester, I urge parents to carefully review academic progress to ensure their children are on-track in their studies. Resources are available to students who need additional intervention and support. Please contact your school if your child is falling behind in any subjects. There is still enough instructional time remaining in this school year for students to recover grades and loss of learning in order to be promoted to the next grade level.

December also marks the close of one year and the beginning of another. We have spent time reflecting on achievements and setbacks in 2021 and are grateful for the wonderful school community that works collaboratively to meet the needs of its students. We look forward to setting and reaching even higher goals in the new year.

May this holiday season be filled with wonderful traditions and the creation of new memories. I hope that over the Christmas break, you spend time together as families to reflect on the many blessings that we all share. Take this time to bond, slow down, and create moments that your children will cherish. Use this time to reset and rejuvenate so that we can come back in the new year strong and ready to maximize learning in the second semester.

I wish all of you a blessed and joyful holiday season.  May it be filled with joy, laughter, love, and the richness of loved ones!
