Dear LPSS Families:
As we embark upon another school year together, it’s been a real joy to see students return to campuses across the district. I know the current pandemic is far from ideal — but I’m proud we’re able to reunite students and teachers for the in-person education our children deserve.

As last year, we've established health and safety protocols to minimize the risk of COVID-19 spread on school campuses. In addition to masking and contact tracing, we are social distancing and following the most up-to-date guidance to keep everyone safe. We continue to work closely with health experts in making decisions that impact so many.

Ultimately, we all want the same thing: for our children to be safe, healthy and receive the high quality education they deserve. We have so much to be grateful for, and I believe our resiliency as a district will shine through in all that we do. Every single person at LPSS is committed to making this a safe, successful and joyous school year. I know our teachers are excited to have students back — campuses are coming alive with the energy and promise of a new school year!

Parents and guardians, I thank you for your continued patience and support as we navigate these unprecedented times together. I know it hasn’t been easy, but a brighter future for our children will make it all worthwhile. Here’s to a safe and successful 2021-2022 school year!
